The Decision Couch

Take a seat on the couch, and let’s explore the question you’ve been asking yourself in those quiet moments: are you happy?

It’s totally normal to feel a pull toward something different, to wonder if this is what the rest of your life is going to look like, and to not be sure about how you feel about that.

It doesn’t mean you're ungrateful for what you have, and it doesn’t mean that you have to blow everything up.

But right now, you’re stuck in your head — wrestling with what-ifs, playing 4D chess trying to predict every possible outcome before you make a decision about what you want.

What would it be like to finally get some clarity?

“ Joeli has a rare gift for pinpointing the core blockage. The elephant in the room. It’s difficult to put into words; it’s almost as though she feels it as you feel it.

I was most struck by the soul-nourishing empathy she brings to the work. Her spiritual capacity is what I think most sets Joeli apart.

She unmasked a deep wound and freed me (or made me free-er) from its’ grip. She provided a safe and validating space for taking a deep dive into my whole and true being.” J.B.

Is this you?

  • you're wrestling with big decisions and are frozen from fear of getting it wrong; the idea of making a decision that you can’t take back — without being 100% certain that it’s the right one — terrifies you

  • you’re not sure if you know what you want, but you know things can’t stay the way they are and you don’t know how to start making any type of change

  • you feel like your only choices are to stay safe or risk everything, and since both of those options terrify you, you (and your dreams) are at a standstill

  • you’re living the in fantasies and daydreams and hope that maybe the universe will just present a clear sign and you’ll be off the hook from having to choose

  • you feel like you can’t talk to any of your friends about wanting more because you haven’t made up your mind yet, and you don’t want to be talked into yet another thing someone else thinks you should do

  • you feel a lot of shame and guilt for even contemplating change when things are kinda, pretty much, fine

  • you're feeling the call to something more magical, but your inner people-pleasing perfectionist keeps trying to logic you out of it

  • you recognise that you’re already grieving your current life — you’ve been watching your joy fade for years, and now you just want the courage to take that next step…once you can figure out what the next step is.

The biggest, bravest thing you can do right now is stop holding all this in your head, and talk about it with someone in a completely neutral, judgment-free space.

“Joeli has a wonderful way of helping you look at the deeper issue without any judgement or pressure, walking alongside you into big discoveries that lead to major changes in your life.” L.C.

Introducing: The Decision Couch

a 2 hour single session that will help you peek through the keyhole at what could be waiting on the other side of change

  • explore and thicken the story that’s keeping you stuck so you can get out of freeze mode

  • leave lighter from no longer keeping everything in your head

  • have a plan and accountability for what your next step is so that things don’t keep being more of the same

  • leave knowing that someone is in your corner, rooting for your happiness

If you could get yourself unstuck by thinking your way through this, you’d have done it already. You’re not stuck because you don’t know what you want. And you’re not stuck because there’s no way out.

You’re stuck because the shame and guilt society has put on us for choosing ourselves creates thin stories and impossible actions.

It’s not about whether you stay or go, change careers or start a business, follow your intuition or stick to the plan. It’s about changing the script of what you’re allowed to ask for and how unreasonable your desires are allowed to get.

So let’s sit and chat, and find you that clarity you’ve been seeking.

The practicalities:

When you book a session you’ll pick your date for our initial two-hour call. You’ll also be asked to fill in a simple questionnaire that allows me to come into our session prepared and allows you to get the most out of a call.

You’ll then have two weeks of Voxer support. Voxer is a free app that allows us to connect over text and voice notes — think of it as having me in your pocket, ready to encourage you and give support at anytime. In these two weeks you’ll hopefully be taking the action we discussed in our call together, and I’m there to support you through that. But if you happen to be a very normal human and find yourself in resistance mode, I’m there to support you through that as well.

Finally, you’ll schedule in a 30-minute follow-up call where we will close the container and plan what your next steps might be.

PRICE: £275

“Joeli has this innate ability to help you see your potential from a fresh perspective. Her confidence and naturally energetic style allowed me to believe in mine and take the steps I needed to build my business. If you need someone to help you push past your comfort zone and take those courageous steps, Joeli is absolutely the coach for you!” S.B.

This container is a good fit for you if:

  • you’re struggling with perfectionism and the desire to get everything exactly right is keeping you stuck

  • you’re constantly criticising or judging yourself

  • you’re resentfully stuffing your needs down and grinding their teeth as you do yet another thing for someone else

  • you’re always pushing through, stuck in the story of being the responsible one

  • you don't feel good enough in pretty much any area of your life....and at the same time you feel too much -- too big, too loud, too many feelings, too sensitive, too needy

  • the truth feels like a terrible secret that you can't tell even to yourself because you know something will have to change and it's scary to turn and face it

This container isn’t a good fit for you if:

  • aren’t willing to get a little uncomfortable

  • you’re looking for therapy — my coaching has roots in therapeutic approaches but isn’t, and shouldn’t be used as a substitute for, therapy

  • you just want to vent — this is an action-orientated session

  • are really hoping to just have the answers handed to you

  • aren’t open to exploring new ideas and ways of seeing the world

“I am deeply grateful for having had the opportunity to spend time with Joeli. It was like taking a challenging through-hike with someone who is very experienced. Having someone walk a path with you - taking you just as you are- not often taking your hand to pull you along but rather stopping and asking: which way do you think we should go next? And then prompting you for your own best solutions.” K.W.

Have we met yet? Hi, I’m Joeli!

I’m a queer, tummy ache girlie who runs anxious, needs a daily nap, and gets depressed in the winter. I’m also a total nerd who loves D&D and seeing how fast I can put together a jigsaw puzzle.

As a child, I learned early on that my safety depended on my ability to chameleon and blend in; that the less needs I had, the better I was liked. So I hid away any part that was too loud, too emotional, too different. I became a good girl, A+ student. Responsible. Quiet. A pleasure to have in class. Nose always stuck in a book. (Escaping away to the fantasy life.)

But there is a huge cost to being a high achiever / A+ student. Often we didn’t learn to play, to make mistakes, to try and experiment and explore our interests outside of academia. We only felt safe exploring what was certain and known and came with the least amount of risk. This means we now need to learn how to expand our capacity for holding uncertainty and discomfort.

That’s why I create spaces, like The Decision Couch, that allow you to play, explore the “what-ifs”, and figure out who you are and what you want outside of the “shoulds”.
